Zypcom's 56K External PnP Video Ready Modem effectively integrates fax, voice and data into a reliable communication unit for use with Microsoft Windows. The device has maximum line speeds of 56 kilo bytes per second and a V42 bis compression. The data throughput offered reaches maximum rates of 115,200 bits per second and can be used even with impaired phone lines. Along with advanced data mode abilities the modem has voice, fax and video capability. The fax features includes 14 kilo bytes per second line speeds, fax mailbox, fax retrieval and other full fax functions. The voice functions include an answering machine multiple voicemail boxes, message scripting and a duplex speakerphone. The modem has the advantage of being able to carry out video communication and can play back and record messages in a wav format.
