Windows device driver information for ADAT/PCR

The ADAT/PCR device driver is used by the ADAT/PCR interface card for communicating with the ADAT/EDIT audio software. The ADAT/EDIT software permits users to easily increase signal processing and hard disk editing functionalities to users’ existing ADAT systems. Since ADAT users use tape as the norm for transferring, tracking and archiving audio, Alesis (maker of ADAT) created the ADAT/EDIT software to combine the nonlinear and tape functionality. This software uses the ADAT/PCR card which is the sole ADAT interface card that is compatible with both the ADAT Sync and ADAT Optical outputs and inputs in one PCI card space. The ADAT/EDIT software’s transfer utility will automatically recognize ADAT recorders installed in the system and will function in combination with the interface of the ADAT Sync by implementing functions in the ADAT/PCR card’s device driver. This action is performed to preserve accurate synchronization between the computer system and ADAT.

The ADAT/EDIT editing software can be used with any ADAT model; from the ADAT-XT and ADAT classic original to the present generation of ADAT type 2 machines such as M20, XT20 and LX20. This editing software can likewise export and import SDII, WAV and AIFF files. It also has support for MIDI sequencing for recording and playing and editing MIDI data in the same program. The ADAT/EDIT’s transfer software ADAT/CONNECT which also harnesses some functionality from the ADAT/PCR device driver is compatible with almost all the well-known audio editing programs that use the standard ASIO or WAV drivers. These include the Cakewalk Pro Audio, Opcode Studio vision Emalogic Logic audio, Steinberg Cubase and MOTU Digital Performer. The ADAT/CONNECT transfer software can export and import up to a maximum of 24 bit audio coming from ADATs with single sample precision. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and ADAT/PCR errors before installing any driver updates.
