The release of the current version 8.30 saw Lucent Win Modem change its name to Agere Win Modem. With Agere Win Modem, the modems firmware can be easily updated without having to flash it. Because of the name change, all software and dial up networking connectoids using the previous name (Lucient) should be updated for the device to function optimally. The updated driver includes WDM; these drivers are supported in windows 98SE, 2000, Me, and XP. Windows 98 and Me support .VXD drivers.
