The hardware Cinemaster cards are also known as Hardware Cine Master Cards, the cards are based on C-Cube ZIZA decoding micro chip and a Brooktree Video Encoder. There two versions of the decoding card Version 3.0. and 1.x. 3.0 version is also known as Hardware CineMaster 98' and uses a far much newer version of the decoding micro chip. It uses the same decoding chip as the video encoding card, the CineMaster cards do not use an external VGA pass- through cable. The CineMaster cards use Internal VMI cable. VMI increase the image quality of your DVD machine. CineMaster is available in two regions RPC1 DVD-ROMs, they are not region protected but both hacks use a modified DLL file to avoid region check. Currently there is no hack that can disable the Macro vision protection chip that comes with the Cinemaster.

Cinemaster has a software driver called Software CineMaster that uses same player application. Matrox, gateway, ELSA, ATI and others have licensed the software ingine for use in the player software. The older versions of the Cinemaster are used by Windows 95 only and have different decoding chip and different software drivers.it operates on a stand alone mode and supports digital inlay. This allows the decoder to write directly into a video card's display RAM. This provides the truest, clearest and highest performance play back of all decoders, this is done via the 26-pin VPE port. It is easy to install and produces impeccable video and audio output. The Cinemaster has two video outputs and two inputs for full Dolby AC-3-5.1 Channel -2 Channel stereo.
