Windows device driver information for SecOVID Reader III

SecOvid one time passwords provide a high level security for authentication purposes more than other normal passwords. One does not need to install any soft and hardware on the workstations so that the users’ mobility can be left intact. SecOVID server is the central authentication as well as the authorization server and thus is in the position of handling different systems and applications at the same time. Such systems include routers, firewalls, web servers and VPN gateways. Each system user is presented with a SecOVID Token or a personal SecOVID smartcard and a smart card reader which can be SecOVID Reader III or KOBIL mIDentity. Those who want to log into the system need to first enter passwords which are valid to them so as to prove their identities. The users will not first know their passwords and will be needed to request their SecOVID Tokens or SecOVID smartcards and then enter their secret PIN.

The secret key for an individual user will be programmed by factory into the token and then delivered on a floppy disk for server import. Next, the single button OTP generation is displayed. There is two-factor authentication by ServerPIN (optional); the user is then required to enter the OTP plus optional ServerPIN to the applications login dialog. Users of SecOVID Reader III are advised to always use the latest version the devise driver as this will assist them to utilize its functions better and easier. Versions that are old are known to cause conflicts of devices and other errors.
