A USB is a device for mass storage that uses communication protocols of computing. The Forum for USB Implementers are responsible for defining the protocols running on USB (Universal Serial Bus). Hardware may also be given an end point number and used for transmitting or receiving data, but never for both functions since only one fifo can be used at a particular time. These are issues that should be resolved when writing additional drivers for the USB.
