WinBackup 2.1.2 Release Upgrade
WinBackup 2 is
the home and business backup solution that guarantees 100% reliability
and superior performance, while minimizing total cost of ownership!
The latest upgrade release with
bug fixes and WinBackup Outlook Agent.
2nd December 2005 - Uniblue Systems,
a leading provider of backup and recovery management software
for the SoHo and SMB market, today announced an upgrade release
to WinBackup 2.1.2 - this release aims at fixing previous bugs
and launching an updated version of the WinBackup Outlook Agent.
The Outlook Agent Feature of WinBackup is an
alternative to the Outlook Shortcut in WinBackup and allows
users to gain actual control over the data contained within
in their Outlook PST and OST files. This feature is available
only in WinBackup Professional.
Access to the WinBackup Outlook Agent is mainly
through the Select Files for backup feature within WinBackup
- through this feature users can select single or multiple emails
that need to be backed up and/or restored. The new version of
WinBackup Outlook Agent is much faster and allows more manageability
to users. Refresh rates have been improved and WinBackup now
automatically shuts down Outlook to ensure that all your emails
are backed up and are restored with 100% efficiency.

Other fixes include refresh rates when search
for files, upgrading the select files engine, improving the
graphical user interface. For example, right-clicking on the
WinBackup Life-ring calls up the WinBackup Quick Menu that allows
users to:
- Open WinBackup: running this command
will open WinBackup.
- Kill a Backup Process: running this
command will kill the current backup process.
- Disable (or Enable) the Scheduler:
running this command will disable the WinBackup Scheduler
Service (wbscheds.exe). If the Scheduler service is enabled
in the Windows Services, the menu will display the command
"Disable Scheduler" whereas if the Scheduler service
has been disabled, the menu will display the command "Enable
Scheduler". This command will install or uninstall the
service in Windows and not just start or stop it. This command
has been introduced to make access to the Scheduler service
easier, especially when users would like to clean the log
files, perform manual updates etc..
- Exit: running this command will exit
the WinBackup Tray-bar application (wbtray.exe).

The latest release also includes the relevant
additions to the manual and help system to continue in the tradition
of Backup Made Easy.
