Press Release
Digital River launches multi-channel e-commerce operations for LiUtilities
February 6, 2004 - Digital River, Inc.
(NASDAQ: DRIV), a global leader in e-commerce outsourcing, today
announced that it signed an e-commerce agreement with LIUtilities,
a leading developer of software solutions for computer management
and data security. Based on the agreement, Digital River is
providing LIUtilities with a multi-channel e-commerce solution
to support the online marketing and sales of its award-winning
system utilities. The recently launched initiative includes
a branded online store built and managed by Digital River and
located at www.liutilities.com, as well as access to Digital
River's multi-channel online sales network, which is comprised
of hundreds of online retailers, content sites and portals.
"By leveraging our world-class e-commerce
platform, proven e-marketing services, and vast network of software
publisher clients and online retailers, we have been able to
help thousands of companies grow their online businesses,"
said Dave Alampi, Digital River's vice president of marketing.
"Our e-marketing services in particular continue to offer
a strong value proposition and compelling reason for companies
to outsource their e-commerce operations to us. To optimize
exposure and drive sales for our clients' products, we help
them devise multi-channel e-marketing strategies that they then
use to implement a variety of e-marketing campaigns and programs.
Clients that use a combination of Digital River's e-marketing
services can grow their online sales up to three times more
than clients that do not utilize our e-marketing services."
Digital River is not only providing LIUtilities access to its
multi-channel online sales network, but also handling all of
the services necessary for running the company's branded e-commerce
site, located at www.liutilities.com. Digital River recently
launched the e-commerce site, and is providing order management,
fraud prevention, customer service, e-marketing and digital
product fulfillment. Visitors to LIUtilities' online store may
purchase and immediately download LIUtilities' WinTasks, WinBackup
and SpeedUpMyPC.
"To further support the growth our company is experiencing,
we decided to move our online operations to Digital River to
capitalize on its complete outsourced e-commerce solution,"
said Johan Malmberg, LIUtilities' marketing manager. "The
robust offering Digital River provides, including its advanced
shopping cart system, online sales network, third-party promotional
opportunities, and e-mail marketing tools, helps us provide
the best possible shopping experience for our growing customer
base. As we look forward to the remainder of 2004, we plan to
leverage Digital River's e-commerce expertise and world-class
e-marketing services to help us target not only the consumer,
but also the business market, a key goal for LIUtilities."
