This setting displays general information about your CPU that includes processor name, processor speed etc.

Description:
The cpu information of your computer can be retrieved with this setting. It gives basic information of your cpu wherein you can know the processor name, processor speed, identify its family, including identifying the vendor etc. Additionally, you can access information of floating point processor using this setting. Important: in the registry path provided below, 0 refers to the first cpu in your computer. If you have multiprocessors on your system, 1 refers to the second physical cpu or the second logical cpu in your system and so on. For this, go to start > run, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. The cpu information is listed in the right panel of the registry editor window. Note: the registry in windows 98 contains only few of the below given value names. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Next, go to <b>[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Hardware\Description\System\CentralProcessor\0\]</b>, to view "CentralProcessor" information of the CPU in your computer.

Then, go to <b>[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Hardware\Description\System\FloatingPointProcessor\0\]</b>, to view the "FloatingPointProcessor" information of the CPU.
