If you want quick access to your Windows Explorer, you can add the "Windows Explorer" icon in the Quick Launch Bar. This setting enables you to create this icon.

If you want to have quick access to your windows explorer with the push of a button, simply click on the windows explorer icon. This icon can be added to the quick launch bar (next to the start button) on the taskbar, using this setting. For this, go to start > run, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, double-click on the string value appdata to copy the contents of the value data field from the dialog. In the second step, open your windows explorer and paste the application data folder path in the address bar. Subsequently, browse through microsoft > internet explorer > quick launch folders and here, from the file menu choose new > text document. Now, copy and paste the following code in the added document file: <table><tr><td> code</td></tr><tr><td><table><tr><td><br>[shell] <br>command=2 <br>iconfile=explorer.exe,1<br>[taskbar] <br>command=explorer<br></td></tr></table></td></tr></table> save the document file as windows explorer.scf (with double-quotes). Refresh view of your computer for the changes to take effect. Note: for windows 2000 and advanced users, access to quick launch folder is a simple process. Simply type the path %appdata%\microsoft\internet explorer\quick launch in start > run and press enter. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.


First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".
Second, go to <b>[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders\]</b> and double-click on String value "Appdata".
Third, copy the default path from the Value Data textbox.
Next, open Windows Explorer and paste the copied path in the address bar. The folder will look like below image. Then, subsequently click on "Microsoft > Internet Explorer > Quick Launch" folders.
The "Quick Launch" folder will look like below where the "Windows Explorer" icon is not visible.
Follow the above steps to create "Windows Explorer.SCF" file in "Quick Launch" folder. Finally, the icon is visible in your "Quick Launch Bar".
