Hide notification area items (For Current User).
This setting lets you to disable the display of items in the notification area.

Notification area is a part of taskbar generally called as system tray, which also contains start menu, quick launch bar, taskbar window. The area is used for displaying icons of windows applications, user opened programs, and other third-party software. The items present in the notification area do run in windows as background service. Display of the items in the notification area can be disable, per your choice. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a dword value notrayitemsdisplay, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value to 1 which can disable the items in notification area. However, if you want to get the items back, change the value to 0. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to <b>[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\]</b> , right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "NoTrayItemsDisplay " in "Explorer" key.

Next, right-click on "NoTrayItemsDisplay" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value User "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.
