Description:
Balloon tips are pop-up notification of some events. Typically they appear in the notification area (earlier called as system tray) when new hardware or software is installed or free disk space dries-down or when you receive run-time notifications. These can come up automatically and can be closed down by clicking on 'x' in top right corner. However, if you are annoyed of regular pop-up displays you can disable them through this simple registry change. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a dword value enableballoontips in the right panel, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify its value to 0 which can disable balloon tips. However, if you want enable the display back, change the value data to 2 or delete the added value. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.
