Windows messenger is an instant messaging program that helps you to have online conversations with your friends, colleagues and family. You can also have voice and video conversations apart from text conversations as well as send files and photos to your contacts. With this setting you can replace the watermark image of windows messenger with the one of your choice. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, double-click on the string value installationdirectory to copy the contents of the value data field from the dialog. In the second step, open your windows explorer and paste the windows messenger folder path in the address bar. Subsequently rename the filename lvback.gif to lvback-old.gif. Then, copy and paste the desired .gif file in this folder to replace the existing logo of windows messenger and name it to lvback.gif. Windows messenger will have a new background image. However, if you want to the default look of the windows messenger, delete the new lvback.gif file and rename the default file lvback-old.gif to lvback.gif. Refresh view of your computer for the changes to take effect. Note: the new background image should be of size 160x140 pixels. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to <b>[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MessengerService\]</b>, in the open area right-click on "InstallationDirectory" and click on 'Modify'.

Copy the path from Value Data and paste the path in Windows Explorer address bar.
