Disable Windows Messenger balloon tip.
This setting disables the balloon tip, which Windows Messenger displays on getting minimized in the notification area.
Level: Recommended For Experts Only
Description:
When windows messenger is closed, it minimizes into the notification area (earlier called as system tray). Normally, a balloon tip pops-up that it is still running in the background. The notifier pops-up automatically and can be closed down by clicking on 'x' in top right corner. However, if you are annoyed of this regular pop-up display you can disable it through this simple registry change. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a binary value dsbkgndmode in the right panel, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify its value to 1 which can disable balloon tips. However, if you want enable the display back, change the value data to 0 or delete the added value. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.
