Prevent Windows Messenger from running (Current User).
By using this tweak you are able to disable Windows Messenger, if the option to remove or uninstall the Messenger is not available.

Description:
By default, the windows messenger is installed on a windows system, but it does not let you remove or uninstall windows messenger. By using this tweak you are able to disable windows messenger. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. If any of the subkeys \messenger\client does not exist, create it as explained below. Then, create a dword value preventrun in the right panel. Now, right-click and modify its value to 1 to prevent windows messenger from running. However, if you want to access the messenger again, change the value data to 0 or delete the added value. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. Note: if you enable this tweak, remote assistance also cant use windows messenger. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to <b>[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\] </b>, key and create a new key with the name "Messenger" under "Microsoft".

Then, create a "Client" key under "Messenger".

Now, right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "PreventRun" in "Client" key.

Next, right-click on "PreventRun" and click on 'Modify'.

Enter the value "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.
