Description:
The internet explorer windows update option in tools menu opens the windows update page on microsofts website. Through this setting, you can add a custom text in place of windows update, though the custom text will still open microsofts website. For this, go to start > run, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create the key internet explorer and its associated string value windows update menu text, if they do not exist. Now, add the custom text. Restart internet explorer for the changes to take effect. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".
Second, go to <b>[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\]</b> key and create a new key with the name "Internet Explorer" under "Microsoft".
Third, right-click in the open area to create a String Value with the name "Windows Update Menu Text" in "Internet Explorer" key.
Fourth, right-click on "Windows Update Menu Text" and click on 'Modify'.
Finally, type the custom text in the text box provided and click on 'OK'.
