Description:
Some features and behaviors of internet explorer can be controlled by the user. One of them is to disable the close option. This setting makes the internet explorer window close button to stop functioning. It also ceases the functionality of close option in the file menu. This setting is useful in a kiosk, library or public outlets where you do not want users to close internet explorer. Important: even if you enable the close function, all the open internet explorer windows will close only after a logoff or system restart. For this, go to start > run, enter regedit and navigate to the registry keys listed below. You can create a dword value nobrowserclose at hkey_current_user and hkey_local_machine registry paths, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click to modify the value as 1 and disable the close option in internet explorer. However, if you want to get back to the original state, change the value to 0. The changes will take effect when you restart internet explorer. Note: this feature works on internet explorer version 5 and above. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.
