Level: Recommended For Experts Only
Description:
You can restrict the feature to launch a new window in internet explorer. Normally, if you want to open a new window in internet explorer, you could either select file > new option or press the key combination ctrl + n. However, this setting will disable the option of launching a new window from internet explorer. Important: even if you enable the feature to open new window in internet explorer, all the open internet explorer windows will not show this effect. For this, go to start > run, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a dword value nofilenew at hkey_current_user and hkey_local_machine registry paths, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value to 1 which restricts opening of new window in internet explorer. However, if you want to get back to the original state, change the value to 0. Restart internet explorer for the changes to take effect. Note: this feature works on internet explorer version 5 and above. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.
