If you press the F11 key or select Full Screen option in View menu, you can switch to Full Screen mode. This setting can disable this feature of Internet Explorer.
Level: Recommended For Novice Users
Description:
Your internet explorer browser lets you expand its window size to full screen. In the full screen mode, the browser expands the size of the window to show more information of a webpage on a single screen. The f11 keystroke or full screen option in view menu can change the window size. To disable full screen operation, use this registry setting. Important: even if you enable the full screen mode, all the open internet explorer windows will not show the effect. For this, go to start > run, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a dword value notheatermode at hkey_current_user and hkey_local_machine registry paths, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value to 1 which can disable the full screen mode in internet explorer. However, if you want to get back to the original state, change the value to 0. Restart internet explorer for the changes to take effect. Note: this feature works on internet explorer version 5 and above. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.
