Search hidden files.

Click here to run a free scan for registry errors
This setting permits you to look for hidden files while trying to find a file/folder.
Level: Recommended For Experts Only
Description:
Normally, you search for files with specific name or extension but you never look for the hidden files straight away. Sometimes, you yourself may hide some file and forget. You can specifically look for the hidden files. The system or program files are by default hidden, so that they do not get deleted or changed, even by mistake. This setting explicitly searches for hidden files when trying to find a file/folder. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a dword value searchhidden, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value data to 1 which can search hidden files. However, if you want to disable this setting, change the value to 0. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. Note: this works only with advanced search option, but it doesn't work with the classic search. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.
