Description:
This setting can hide the option "for files or folders" from the search item in the start menu. Files and folders option can be used to look for files/folders containing important information, data and program files, music albums, images and many other information. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, rename the key to 0x which can hide the for files or folders in start menu. However, if you want to show the option back, change the value to 0. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. Note: this setting works with classic start menu style and applies to all user accounts created on your system. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".
Finally, go to the <b>[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\FindExtensions\Static\ShellSearch\0]</b> key, right-click to rename it to "0x".
