Favorites is a menu in internet explorer that is used to store web pages bookmarked by the user. The web pages are saved to have a quick access at a later time. The favorites menu can be accessed from internet explorer, windows explorer and start menu. Generally, the favorites item does not appear on the start menu. But, if you want to display it in your simple start menu or classic start menu, you have this registry setting. For this, go to start > run, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a dword value startmenufavorites, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value to 1 which can show the favorites folder in the start menu. However, if you want to hide the folder back, change the value to 0. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to <b>[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\]</b> Now, right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "StartMenuFavorites" in "Advanced" key.

Next, right-click on "StartMenuFavorites" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.
