Remove Search item from the Start menu (For Current User).
This setting enables you to hide the Search item in the Start menu.

Search option lets you to look for stored documents and files & folders, computers on the network, people in address book, websites and permits to work through them. This setting enables you to remove the item from the start menu. For this, go to start > run, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a dword value nofind, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value to 1 which can remove turn off item from the start menu. However, if you want to remove the option, change the value to 0 or delete the value nofind. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to <b>[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\]</b> Now, right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "NoFind" in "Explorer" key.

Next, right-click on "NoFind" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.
