Level: Recommended For Experts Only
Description:
Proxy settings are used to connect to the internet when you work on a network. The proxy clients share a distributed internet connection from a single server. Proxy servers store a local copy of previously retrieved documents such that the remote server need not be contacted by proxy clients to retrieve the same document again. Proxy servers may also be configured to allow access to the internet through a firewall and virus protection guard. This registry setting lets you to disable manually configuring proxy settings in the connections tab of internet option dialog in internet explorer. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. If any of the sub keys internet explorer\control panel is not present, create it as explained below. Then, create a dword value proxy, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value to 1 which can disable configuring proxy settings. However, if you want to enable the option back, change the value data to 0 or delete the value. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.
