Description:
As a default feature, when you click the search button on internet explorer, the left panel will call a page which will look for the arguments passed on msn search. This setting enables you to change msn search page to a different url of your choice, like google. For this, go to start > run, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a string value searchassistant, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value of the desired search url (like http://www.google.com/ie). However, if you want to show msn search again, change the value data to http://ie.search.msn.com/{sub_rfc1766}/srchasst/srchasst.htm. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".
Go to <b>[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search\]</b> , right-click on "SearchAssistant" and click on 'Modify'.
Finally, enter the value User defined Search URL like "http://www.google.com/ie" in the text box and click on 'OK'.
