If you go to start > settings menu and select control panel, windows will open the control panel window. This setting can hide the control panel item in the start menu and windows explorer as well as turns off executing control panel from run menu. For this, go to start > run, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a dword value nocontrolpanel, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value to 1 which can turn off control panels functioning. However, if you want to make control panel function, change the value data to 0 or delete the value. First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to <b> [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion \Policies\Explorer\]</b> , right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "NoControlPanel" in "Explorer" key.

Next, right-click on "NoControlPanel" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.
