Disable Check for Internet Explorer Updates

This setting disables checking for new version updates.

Internet explorer periodically checks for updates - normal frequency is once a month and it asks you to download it, if it is the new version. This feature is not available in windows 2000. This feature is also not available in windows xp. Disabling these features the install on demand (other) or install on demand (internet explorer) and automatically check for internet explorer updates options are turned on by default in all versions of windows except windows 2000 and windows xp. These features are not available in windows 2000 or windows xp, but these options are present on the advanced tab in the internet options dialog box in windows 2000 and windows xp. For this, you have to make changes in the registry. Go to "start->run" and enter "regedit" and click "ok". Search the key listed below. Check the dword value for value name "noupdatecheck". Enter the value "1" to enable the setting and "0" to disable it. After restart or logoff, changes take effect. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.


First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".
Go to <b>[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\]</b>,right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "NoUpdateCheck" in "Main" key.
Next, right-click on "NoUpdateCheck" and click on 'Modify'.
Finally, enter the value "0" (Base Hexadecimal) Without quotation in the text box and click on 'OK'. Once you are done. After a restart or logoff, the changes take effect.
