This setting enables you to control the display of My Recent Documents either as a folder link or cascaded menu in the new Start menu.
Level: Recommended For Novice Users
Description:
Cascaded menu makes the items behave like menus with submenus instead of just opening the related folder. With this setting, you can make the my recent documents display its items by opening a folder link rather than as a cascaded menu. For this, go to start > run, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a dword value start_showrecentdocs, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value to 1 which can show my recent documents items as a folder link. However, if you want to cascade the items back, change the value data to 2. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. Note: this setting will have no effect if you use the classic start menu display in windows. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.
