This setting enables you to control the display of Network Connections either as cascaded menu or as a folder link in the new Start menu.
Level: Recommended For Novice Users
Description:
Cascaded menu makes the items behave like menus with submenus instead of just opening the related folder. With this setting, you can give network connections item a cascaded look. Upon applying cascading effect, network connections item is renamed to connect to and its sub-item is linked to network connections folder. For this, go to start > run, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a dword value start_shownetconn, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value to 2 which can apply cascading look to network connections item. However, if you want to show folder display back, change the value data to 1 or delete the value. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. Note: this setting will have no effect if you use the classic start menu display in windows. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.
