The Most Frequent List in new Start menu displays the application names that are regularly used. This setting can disable the shortcut of the browser Microsoft Internet Explorer from appearing in the list.

Windows displays the most frequently accessed programs, in left panel of the new start menu called most frequent list. This list makes the program accessibility comfortable for users. But, with this setting you can disable the shortcut of the browser microsoft internet explorer in most frequent list of start menu. Iexplore.exe is the executable program for microsoft internet explorer. It is a web browser included with all versions of windows operating system. It enables you to view web pages, surf the net and local intranets. Latest version of internet explorer provides improved navigation, security and safety against malicious software. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, create a string value nostartpage, if this value does not exists, and leave the data blank. This removes the shortcut to the browser. However, if you want to get the browser shortcut back in start menu, delete the string value. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. Note: the restrictions will apply on all user accounts created on your system. First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".
Second, go to the <b>[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\Applications\iexplore.exe\]</b> key, right-click on the blank area in the right pane and click on "New > String Value" to create a new String value with the name "NoStartPage".
