Add colorful message background in Outlook Express ver 4.

This setting enables you to use colorful background in compose message section of Outlook Express ver 4.

Using a picture or color as the background means you type your message on top of the background, giving your message a designer's touch. When you use html as your message format in outlook express ver 4, not only can you add pictures or color, you can use them as a background for the entire message. For this, go to start > run, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a string value colorcycle, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value to 1 which can display the colorful message background. However, if you want to disable this feature, change the value data to 0 or delete the value. Restart outlook express for the changes to take effect. Upon starting outlook express and then new message window, hold down ctrl+shift keys and press z key to scroll to change the background color. Repeat the keystroke to cycle through the colors. Note: windows 98 had outlook express ver 4 but windows 98se had outlook express ver 5.
