Change the default location of Microsoft Address Book.
With this setting, you can change the default location/path of the Microsoft Address Book. Upon changing the path, all subsequent changes to the contact list will be saved, by default, at the new location.

Microsoft windows provides an address book for managing your contacts. The address book is an application and service that enables users to keep track of people. It is a convenient place to store contact information for easy retrieval from programs such as microsoft outlook, outlook express, etc. This setting enables you to change the default location/path of the microsoft address book. For this, go to start > run, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, double-click the value name default under wab file name key, to define a new path in the value data field for managing your contacts. Refresh view of your computer for the changes to take effect. Note: after changing the path you have to copy the .wab file from the old location to the new location. All subsequent changes to the contact information will be saved at the new location by default. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Second, go to the <b>[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\WAB\WAB4\Wab File Name\]</b> key, right-click on the "Default" String value and click on "Modify".

Finally, enter the desired path such as "C:\Documents and Settings\systweak.wab" in the text box and click on 'OK'.
