Remove Windows Messenger integration from Outlook Express.
This setting removes Windows Messenger integration from Outlook Express and restricts the ability to launch the instant messaging from the email program.

Outlook express has a feature to launch windows messenger, the instant messaging program from the tools menu of the email program. The installation of windows messenger adds a number of extensions to outlook express and the windows address book. You can disable the messenger service if you are not interested in those extensions. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a dword value hide messenger, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value data to 2 which can remove integration of messaging service in outlook express. However, if you want to show the option back, delete hide messenger value. Restart outlook express for the changes to take effect. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to <b>[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Outlook Express\]</b>,right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "Hide Messenger" in "Outlook Express" key.

Next, right-click on "Hide Messenger" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "2" (Base Hexadecimal) in the text box and click on 'OK'.
