This setting lets you to hide the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop.

Description:
You have a choice to display the desired standard icons on the desktop. If you dont use internet explorer as your default browser, you can hide the internet explorer icon from desktop. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed at serial number 1 to check the internet explorer version. Check the string value name ie and its data value should correspond to 6.0 or above. Now, navigate to the registry path listed at serial number 2 and search for the key {fbf23b42-e3f0-101b-8488-00aa003e56f8}. If found right-click to delete it. Then, search the registry path listed at serial number 3 and 4 for hkey_current_user and hkey_local_machine and create a dword value nointerneticon, if this value does not exist. Right-click on it and modify the value data to 1. Finally, navigate to the registry path at serial number 5 and check for the dword value name "attributes", create if not existing. Right-click on it and modify the value data "100024" to hide the icon. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.

Second, go to the <b>[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Version Vector\]</b> key, right-click and click on "Modify".
Fourth, go to the <b>[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\{FBF23B42-E3F0-101B-8488-00AA003E56F8}]</b> key, right-click and click on "Delete".
Fifth, go to the <b>[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\]</b> key, right-click on the "NoInternetIcon" DWORD value and click on "Modify".
Sixth, enter the value "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.
Seventh, go to the <b>[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\]</b> key, right-click on the "NoInternetIcon" DWORD value and click on "Modify".
Eighth, enter the value "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.
Ninth, go to the <b>[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{871C5380-42A0-1069-A2EA-08002B30309D}\ShellFolder\]</b> key, right-click on the "Attributes" DWORD value and click on "Modify".
Finally, enter the value "100024" in the text box and click on 'OK'.
