Level: Recommended For Novice Users
Description:
The context menu appears when you right-click in windows explorer or on desktop. There is an option "new", which lets you create various documents, folder and shortcut. You can hide selected items in the "new" option of the context menu of desktop or windows explorer. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the desired applications file extension (like txt) registry path. Now, right click on the shellnew folder of the file extension key and modify its value to shellnew- i.e. Adding hyphen sign (-) at the end of the subkey name. However, you can remove the hyphen sign (-) from the subkey shellnew- to show the item back in from the context menu. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.
