This setting enables you to display the attributes of the file in the tool tip.
Level: Recommended For Novice Users
Description:
Tool tip is the information displayed about the file on which mouse is placed for few seconds. The information can be either the details, it contains or name of the author, date of creation etc. Therefore, you can have inside information of the file without opening it. All this information and more can be had only from the file properties like read-only, system, hidden and archive. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, right-click and modify the infotip value to prop:attributes;type;docauthor;doctitle;docsubject;doccomments;write;size. To revert to the original tool tip set the value to prop:type;docauthor;doctitle;docsubject;doccomments;write;size. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. Note: this setting applies to simple tooltips only. Some file types have their own tooltip provider and thus the attributes will not be visible within the tooltip. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.
