Description:
If you do not want to display the drive in windows explorer when opened, then this setting will satisfy you. The options in the context menu like "open" and "explore" are turned grey as the drive gets hidden. For this, you have to make changes in the registry. Go to "start->run" and enter "regedit" and click "ok". Search the key. Enter the reg_dword value "nodrives" in right panel. Now, double-click the value "nodrives" and set the decimal data value. Replace the variable hide_value with the data value given below for hiding the drives. <table><tr><td><p align="center"><span style="font-size: 11px"> <span style="font-family: verdana">drive</span></span></td><td><center>hide_value</td></tr><tr><td>a</td><td><center>1</td></tr><tr><td>b</td><td><center>2</td></tr><tr><td>c</td><td><center>4</td></tr><tr><td>d</td><td><center>8</td></tr><tr><td>e</td><td><center>16</td></tr><tr><td>f</td><td><center>32</td></tr><tr><td>g</td><td><center>64</td></tr><tr><td>h</td><td><center>128</td></tr><tr><td>i</td><td><center>256</td></tr><tr><td>j</td><td><center>512</td></tr><tr><td>k</td><td><center>1024</td></tr><tr><td>l</td><td><center>2048</td></tr><tr><td>m</td><td><center>4096</td></tr><tr><td>n</td><td><center>8192</td></tr><tr><td>o</td><td><center>16384 </td></tr><tr><td>p</td><td><center>32768</td></tr><tr><td>q</td><td>65536</td></tr><tr><td>r</td><td>131072</td></tr><tr><td>s</td><td>262144</td></tr><tr><td>t</td><td>524288</td></tr><tr><td>u</td><td>1048576</td></tr><tr><td>v</td><td>2097152</td></tr><tr><td>w</td><td>4194304</td></tr><tr><td>x</td><td>8388608</td></tr><tr><td>y</td><td>16777216</td></tr><tr><td>z</td><td>33554432</td></tr></table> for displaying the drives, just delete "nodrives" entry. For more than one drive: add up the values of the drives if you want to hide more than one drive, for example, add up the values of c (4) and d (8) drives and put 12 in the data value. Restart or logoff the system to see the latest changes. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.
