Description:
Windows displays information text if the mouse is hovered on a file or folder. This text is the information about the file which is called tool tip. Disk checking programs like chkdsk or scandisk saves file errors in a file as file fragments, which has an extension of .chk. This setting lets you modify the text of its tool tip. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a string value infotip, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value to with the info tip you would like to show with the file when mouse is hovered over it. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.
