For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, double-click on the string value csdversion to check windows service pack number. In case it displays wrong information you can fix the same. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Second, go to the <b>[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\]</b> key, right-click on the "CSDVersion" String value and click on "Modify".

Finally, double-click to view the Service pack number like "Service Pack 2". In case it displays wrong information you can fix the same.
