Hide the extension for the JScript (.JS) files.
This setting enables you to hide the .JS file extension. If you have a file for example "Work.js", you can hide the extension that it looks like "Work".

With this setting you can hide the extension of jscript files. If you have a file for example "work.js", you can hide the extension that it looks like "work". For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, create a string value nevershowext, if this value does not exist, and leave the data blank. This hides the extension for the file. Refresh view of your system for the changes to take effect. Note: to show extension of files in windows 2000/xp/2003: open any folder > go to tools menu > view tab > unselect the option "hide extensions for known file types". To show extension of files in windows win 98/me: go to start menu > settings > folder options > view tab > unselect the option "hide extensions for known file types". First, click the Start button, and select Run. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Next, go to <b>[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\JSFile]</b>, right-click and click on 'New -> String Value' to create a new String Value with the name 'NeverShowExt'.

Finally, leave the data value blank.
