Description:
Windows show normally .dll files with the default generic icon, but you can specify that windows should use the icons inside each file. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, right-click and modify the data of default expandable string value to %1 which can show special icons for .dll files. However, if you want to revert to default icons look, change the value data to %systemroot%\system32\shell32.dll,-154. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.

First, click the Start button, and select Run. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit"
Second, go to [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\dllfile\DefaultIcon] and right-click on "Default " and select 'Modify'.
Finally set the value data as '%1' and click 'OK'.
