Description:
Windows show normally .cur files with the special icons i.e. Icons inside each file, but you can specify that windows should use generic icons. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, right-click and delete the data of default string value which can show generic icons for .cur files. However, if you want to revert to default icons look, change the value data to %1. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".
Go to <b>[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\curfile\DefaultIcon] </b> and right-click on "Default " and select 'Delete'.
