Level: Recommended For Novice Users
Description:
Whenever you create any dos shortcut windows adds the white arrow in the left corner of the shortcut. Through this setting, you can hide shortcut mark on any new dos shortcut you create. Hiding the arrow for *.pif files will also disable any shortcut key defined for your dos shortcuts. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, delete the string value "isshortcut" from the right panel. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. Note: windows is not able to recognize a shortcut as a shortcut due to this setting. This thing makes windows to open the "open with .." dialog box instead of executing the program. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.
