There are occasions when you require some of your installed programs to run automatically when windows starts. These programs can be added to the "startup" folder. However, many programs add their links in the "startup" folder so that they start automatically when you turn on your computer. To see the list of programs which will launch at startup, go to start > all programs > startup. This setting enables you to change the default location/path of the "startup" folder. For this, go to start > run, enter "regedit" and search the keys listed below. Now, double-click the value name "startup" under "shell folders" key, to define a new path in the value data field for your "startup" folder. Refresh view of your computer for the changes to take effect. Note: after changing the path, you have to copy all your startup files from the old location to the new location. Then, youll have all the program files linked with windows startup at the new location. All subsequent program files will be saved at the new location by default.
