Increase the screen saver grace period.
This setting lets you adjust the grace period between appearance of a password-protected screen saver and acceptance of password.
Level: Recommended For Novice Users
Description:
You can specify when the password protection of a screen saver should become effective. Password protection of a screen saver is not effective immediately. By default, a brief period elapses within which the user can use the mouse or the keyboard to stop the screen saver without entering the password. This entry specifies the delay in seconds between the appearance of a password-protected screen saver and the enforcement of the password requirement. This delay is the screen saver grace period. To adjust the length of screen saver delay, use this registry setting. The time delay can range between 0-217483 seconds. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a string value screensavergraceperiod in the right panel, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify its value within the range given above which can increase grace period. However, if you want to show the original time delay, change the value data to 5. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.
