Disable registry editors.
With this setting you can restrict a user from using the registry editors like regedit.exe or regedt32.exe. This can be useful if you are working on a network based environment and want to withhold users on workstations from editing the registry.
Level: Try but be careful
Description:
This restriction disables the ability to run the standard microsoft registry editing tools such as regedit and regedt32, therefore the registry editing is out of the users reach. This can be useful if you are administrator of a network based environment and want to withhold users on workstations from editing the registry. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a dword value disableregistrytools in the right panel, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify its value to 1 which can disable registry editors. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. Important: please make a note that once you edit the registry with this setting you will not be able to use regedit.exe or regedt32.exe to undo the changes done. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.
