Enable ClearType contrast resolution.
This setting enables you to adjust the ClearType contrast resolution for better results.
Level: Recommended For Novice Users
Description:
Cleartype is a font-enhancement technology that is capable of making fonts appear clearer. This font smoothing method gives better results on lcd display with windows, if the contrast value is adjusted between 900-1100. However, because cleartype still includes antialiasing support, you may see some improvement when you enable cleartype on a crt screen. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, right-click and modify the string value fontsmoothing, in the right panel, to 2, along with the dword value fontsmoothingtype to set its data to 2. After this, create a dword value fontsmoothinggamma and set its value between 750-1000, in decimal. To disable, delete the added values. The changes take effect after a restart or logoff. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.
