Description:
If you go to "tools->folder options" in the explorer and choose the tab "file types", you can specify the default application for a particular file type. In the tab file types of the folder options dialog you can also add or delete the file types, but if you enable this setting, you can't make any modifications to the file types. By using this tweak you can disable this feature for all users. For this, go to start > run menu, enter "regedit" and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a dword value "nofileassociate", if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value to "1" to disable any modifications of the file types inside the explorer. However, if you want to get back to the original state, change the value to "0". After a restart or log off the changes take effect. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.
