Remove file sharing in My Network Places
If a user has some files on his computer, he can share his files with the other users of the network. You can disable the sharing of files in My Network Places.

Description:
If a user has some files on his computer, he can share his files with the other users of the network. You can disable the sharing of files in my network places. If you go in windows explorer to a folder that you like to share, press there the right mouse button, choose properties and select the tab "sharing". Now you can share this folder, if you click on the radio button "share this folder" and press ok. If you like to prevent the sharing of files, you can enable this setting. For this go to "start->run" and enter "regedit" and search the key listed below. You can create one key "network" and then you create inside this key dword values "noentirenetwork" and "nofilesharing", if these values are not existing or the key is not existing. Now you can set this value to disable file sharing in my network places. After a restart the changes take effect. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type 'regedit'.

Second, go to <b> [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\] </b> and create a new key 'Network' under 'Policies'.

Next, create a new DOWRD value 'NoFileSharing' under the key 'Network'.

Now, right click on the DWORD value 'NoFileSharing' and select 'Modify'.

Finally set the value data as '1' to remove file sharing in My Network Places and click 'OK'.
