Save Changes to Notepad Configuration
This setting lets you save the changes made to Notepad configuration.

Notepad is a tool, which every computer user finds easy to use. It is required to read and write text for notes, e-mails, batch files etc. It does not automatically line-wrap text at the right margin. The text editor lets you configure the page setup including headers, footers and margins. These options are not normally saved between sessions but with this tweak notepad can be made to save any changes. For this, go to start > run menu, enter regedit and navigate to the registry path listed below. If the subkey \notepad is not present, create it as explained below. Then, create dword value name fsavepagesettings, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and make the value data 1 to enable the setting. Now, create another dword value name fsavewindowpositions, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and make the value data 1 to enable the setting. Click ok and close the registry editor. Restart the system. When editing the registry it is highly recommended to run a quick scan for optimization, you can test your system now for free.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to <b>[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Notepad\]</b>,right- click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "fSavePageSettings" in "Notepad" key.

Next, right-click on "fSavePageSettings" and click on 'Modify'.

Enter the value "1" (Base Hexadecimal) Without quotation in the text box and click on 'OK'.

Go to <b>[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Notepad\]</b>,right- click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "fSaveWindowPositions" in "Notepad" key.

Next, right-click on "fSaveWindowPositions" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "1" (Base Hexadecimal) Without quotation in the text box and click on 'OK'. Once you are done. After a restart or logoff, the changes take effect.
